Job Description:
We are actively seeking a skilled and compassionate ICU/PCU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in Nebraska. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a critical care setting where clinical excellence, collaboration, and quality patient care are top priorities.
This is a rotating day and night shift position, with varied start times depending on departmental needs. Candidates must be flexible and adaptable to both shift types.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and progressive care patients, monitoring vital signs and administering medications as needed.
- Utilize clinical expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in accordance with best practices.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Cerner EMR system.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide lifesaving interventions in high-pressure situations.
- Prioritize patient safety and uphold infection control protocols and hospital standards.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced ICU/PCU environment.
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Nebraska or compact state) – Required
- Certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS – Required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU and/or PCU experience in a hospital setting
- EMR experience with Cerner – Preferred
- Strong adaptability and ability to work both day and night shifts
