Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the full life cycle of the employee including the organization and employee file maintenance. This position coordinates and delivers the new hire training for all new hires and oversees the adherence of the on-boarding strategy.
This position manages the credentialling process and the ongoing maintenance of job descriptions, policies, guides, service excellence and years of service awards while providing support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves of absences, workers compensation management and employee general concerns.
This position works directly with first line supervisors and management to resolve human resource related issues and will conduct investigations as assigned by the HR Market Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Manages the new hire process for each employee hired for the NRO. Prepares the appropriate files and ensures all processes are complete prior to the employees start date. Utilizes independent judgement in the review of background and reference results. Communicates and coordinates with appropriate departments (administration, IT/IS, hiring manager) in the preparation of each new hire.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientations to ensure an effective hand-off to their department managers. Manages the on-the-job training, all 30-, 60- and 6-month check-in's and the 90-day evaluation process. Collaborates with supervisors and department heads to ensure a consistent onboarding experience occurs with each new hire. Reviews information and provides guidance to managers regarding next steps on performance and/or additional training needs.
- Serves as the Administrator for the NRO SharePoint site, the computer-based learning system (HealthStream), and the ePAF system. Manages the employee incentive programs such as Employee of the Month/Year, anniversary awards, and other NRO programs.
- Conducts job description analysis with managers to ensure the job description is accurate. Meets with each manager to review and update the job descriptions. Reviews and updates all policies and guides at least annually or when changes occur.
- Manages the credentialing process. Supports the management of the employee personnel, medical and training files for each employee. Conducts routine audit of files, ensuring all information is current and accurate and manages the year end archival process.

Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Associates degree required, BA preferred
- 3-5 years related experience required, 5-8 years preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Knowledge of employee Investigation process.
- Knowledge of of Leave of Absences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of Workers Compensation.
- Familiar with HRIS and ATS system
