Summary of Core Job Functions:
Functions as the liaison between Barboursville School and the on-site school. Responsible for providing on site communication to school personnel to ensure the school has appropriate clinical information to best serve the patient educationally. Is an advocate for the patients in the education setting.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential core function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, experience, and ability necessary to perform this job.
Essential Core Functions:
- Will assist the residents in preparing for and transitioning to school daily.
- Will provide clinical/behavioral update to school each morning.
- Will supervise residents when in time out or suspension from school.
- Will attend school meetings as requested.
- Will track school related data and report monthly in treatment team.
- Will assist in preparing and serving school lunches daily.
- Will assist with monitoring residents and completing MHT duties when residents are not in school.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
1. Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience
a. High School diploma or equivalent
b. Minimum of 1.5 years working with children/adolescents or five or more years in a mental health field.
2. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required
a. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
b. Ability to work as a member of a larger team.
c. Basic clerical skills (using email, phones, copy machine, fax, etc)
d. Ability to effectively utilize Excel and Word and other software to enhance work products and presentations.
e. Ability to prioritize work to meet assigned deadlines
f. Ability to make independent decisions
g. Ability to follow regulatory and programmatic guidelines.
