A kitchen porter ensures kitchens are clean and orderly and helps with basic food preparation. This position wash dishes, equipment and utensils to meet sanitation regulations. They support the kitchen manager and chefs to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly. The main responsibilities of the porter will be to help to restock food items and take care of deliveries.
Responsibilities :
- The Primary responsibility will be to receive deliveries, unpack them, and place them in the appropriate location
- Clean and sanitize cookware, dishes, and utensils, throughout the kitchen
- Sweep and mop the kitchen area as needed
- Assist our chefs by preparing ingredients. This may include chopping, slicing, washing, and peeling vegetables and meats
- Follow the directions of kitchen supervisors to provide support through the completion of additional tasks as necessary
