Responsibilities of an Injection Molding Process Technician

• Processes troubleshooting of various types of thermoplastic injection molds, machines, and resins to ensure efficient production of quality products.
• Troubleshoots molding process issues (flash, short-shots, sinks, splay, etc.) for maximum efficiency and minimum scrap levels.
• Changes settings on process controllers to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times to ensure process optimization according to customer and part specifications.
• Troubleshoots mold and machine problems, develop root cause and provide a permanent corrective action to management.
• Helps perform start up and shut down procedures.
• Runs a press as a Mold Operator when required.
• Accurately completes production and scrap reports using IQMS Software.
• Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager.
• Stands, walks and uses hands for 8 to 12 hours per day; there is no sitting in this position.

Candidate Requirements:

• Ability to handle up to 50-pounds.
• Excellent decision-making skills to ensure presses are running efficiently to meet production demands.
• Must be effective and efficient while performing all tasks to ensure production needs are met.
• Possess a flexible mindset as jobs and tasks change quickly.
• Detail oriented.
• Knowledge and application of injection molding principles with strong mechanical aptitude.
• 3-5 Years of Plastics experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
