Responsibilities of a Molding Setup Processor Operator
- Perform tasks related to removing and setting molds : Mold positioning and securing, water lines, hydraulic lines, mold preservation treatment
- Provide secondary equipment as defined by set-up details : Gas Units, Valve Gate controllers, etc.
- Processes troubleshooting of various types of thermoplastic injection molds, machines, and resins to ensure efficient production of quality products.
- Troubleshoots molding process issues (flash, short-shots, sinks, splay, etc.) for maximum efficiency and minimum scrap levels.
- Changes settings on process controllers to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times to ensure process optimization according to customer and part specifications.
- Troubleshoots mold and machine problems, develop root cause and provide a permanent corrective action to management.
- Performs start up and shut down procedures.
- Runs a press as a Mold Operator when required.
- Accurately completes production and scrap reports using IQMS Software.
- Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
- Observes all safety regulations and practices.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager.
- Stands, walks and uses hands for 8 to 10 hours per day; there is no sitting in this position.
