What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector Incoming Materials - Injection Molding position at Universal Plastics - Middlefield?
Role and Responsibilities:
To perform accurate and timely sampling of components (raw materials) to specifications. Responsible for ensuring Good Documentation Practices are utilized throughout all quality records that are reviewed, completed, inspected and audited.
· Inspect incoming materials for defects or deviations from product specifications (this includes raw materials, i.e., resin, coded items, and outsourced product and processes)
· Test melt flow on resins utilizing melt flow indexer and record results in database
· Test moisture in resin prior to parts running and record results in database
· Review certifications for conformance
· Issues NRs as necessary
· Document inspection results by completing reports and inputting data into database
· Communicate inspection status and deliveries with other departments
· Maintain work area in neat and organized fashion
· Other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Quality inspection experience (1-4 years) – strongly preferred
· High attention to detail and consistency
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Experience with basic measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and other common inspection tools
· Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
· Experience with Microsoft Office to assist with work requirements

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
