CAD Technician

Universal Surveying & Mapping is hiring an Autocad Technician in the Houston, TX area! USM is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and land surveying firm with expertise in land development, planning, transportation projects, utilities, construction inspection, and surveying solutions. Requirements:

• 3-10 years Autodesk CAD related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in principles/practices of Land Surveying and Mapping.
• Heavy experience in principles/practices of Oil & Gas Pipeline Mapping.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and proof of current auto insurance.
• Responsibilities:
• Prepare drawings using Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems.
• Use of BluSky, RouteMapper and/or PlatMapper software

Have Experience producing the following deliverables:

• Engineering Alignment Sheets
• Easement Plats with Legal Descriptions
• HDD Designs
• Crossing Permits
• Project Construction Typicals
• Draw topographical and relief maps to aid in design.
• Draft technical details.
• Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.
• Follow drafting Standards and understand templates for deliverables.
• Prepare variations of design.
• Write metes and bounds descriptions.
