What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at Universidad Ana G. Méndez?
We are currently looking for a dedicated experienced individual to join our team as Director of Nursing. Responsible for the administration and supervision of the daily operations of the programs at the Campus level. Supervises the programs’ faculty, support staff and the programs’ student services on campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Implement, administer, and supervise the nursing programs in compliance with and in accordance with accreditation standards, state regulations, and institutional requirements.
2. Chair, supervise and coordinate the accreditation processes of the nursing programs.
3. Supervise and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the assessment process of the unit and the nursing programs.
4. Closely supervise the teaching strategies, methods, and delivery of knowledge in support of the attainment of end of program outcomes.
5. Prepare and recommend class scheduling and programing in accordance with campus’ enrollment, human and fiscal resources for appropriate review and approval.
6. Responsible for the acquisition and the established relationships with clinical affiliation agreements.
7. Monitors the nursing students’ retention officer in the tracking and monitoring of nursing students’ satisfactory academic progress, retention, readiness to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam and job placement.
8. Supervise the simulation and laboratory technicians in the design, maintenance, and delivery of hands-on practice scenarios for students and support of faculty activities.
9. Ensure implementation of program policies and procedures.
10. Evaluate and refer to the Associate Dean of Nursing and the Academic Dean, the candidates for Faculty and any other non-teaching staff necessary for the operation of the unit.
11. Supervise full-time and part-time nursing faculty and clinical preceptors.
12. Evaluate and certificate the academic credential qualifications of the faculty and preceptors.
13. Prepare faculty course and workload assignment and schedules.
14. Coordinate the clinical and academic research areas.
15. Collaborate in the admission, enrollment, retention, and graduation of nursing students.
16. Provides expert guidance to the admissions officers and Registrar for the evaluation of academic credentials for program transfer and international students.
17. Provide academic advising to students, in collaboration with full-time faculty and campus’ administrative staff.
18. Facilitate courses per semester in your area of specialty, complying with the functions and tasks inherent to teaching.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field.
2. Hold a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Florida.
3. Prefer FNP Certification
4. Hold current nursing related certifications where applicable.
5. Three (3) years of experience in higher education teaching, nursing education administration or a combination of both specialty/professional areas.
6. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
7. Ability to work in a multi-task team environment.
8. Strong leadership and customer service skills.
9. Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple projects.
10. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions.
11. Computer competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
12. Available to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
13. Available to travel in or out of the United States for trainings, conferences, or meetings.
14. Demonstrate mastery of business productivity technology tools as well as remote communication technologies to support their function and offer services face-to-face and remotely.
15. Ability to prepare written reports in a clear and concise manner.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1. Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
2. Work Location: On-site. Tampa Bay Campus.
