General Job Summary
The Foreclosure/Bankruptcy Associate is responsible for completing bankruptcy processes while complying with investor and insurer regulations
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Update Loan Information in the system to identify loans in bankruptcy
- Maintain Bankruptcy Timeline for all different bankruptcy chapters
- Process Proof of Claims – generate, review and file with the attorneys
- Review each bankruptcy Plan
- File and monitor Motion for Relief
- Process Reaffirmation documents
- Process discharges and dismissals
- Maintain and monitor codes and comments in the servicing system for bankruptcy payments.
- Communicate with the borrowers, attorneys and Investors
- File and Track post-petition fee notices
- Post and monitor pre-petition and post-petition payments
- Review loans in bankruptcy for final cure
- Process payment change notices
- File and Track notice of payment change for escrow and arm changes.
- Maintain and coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, emails and calls.
- Provide back-up to monitor bankruptcy email.
Other Job Functions
- All other duties as assigned by management
Working Environment
Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor-allergens. Employee will work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.
Requirements
Education, Training and Work Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year Mortgage servicing experience desired
- At least 2 years telephone experience

- Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners
- Complete all assigned training in a timely manner
- Provide professional communication in both oral & written expression
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Excellent organizational, time management & analytical skills
- Able to communicate and negotiate effectively
- Ability to identify and implement solutions to improve productivity and resolve issues and problems
- Knowledge of mortgage banking terminology and regulations
- High degree of accuracy
- Able to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to work afternoon and evening hours
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Travel by foot in outdoor environments where it can slippery/etc.
- Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk)
- Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard)
