Position Summary :
The Director of Operations is responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s operational processes to drive effectiveness, efficiency and improve our overall customer experience. The role involves developing and implementing processes to track and improve productivity and cross team operational excellence throughout the organization and key departments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- The Director will be directed by the COO to oversee multiple departments for the purpose of ensuring seamless coordination across the business and to ensure group implementations are seamless with the least amount of disruption to the employer group and employees. Ensures accurate and timely premium billing and develop and implements processes to ensure the timely payment of premiums and reduce the risk of bad debt or non-payment of premiums.
- Ensures the appropriate department metrics are identified and in place to track our overall accuracy, timeliness, efficiency, and service experience levels and are within established targets that meet or exceed industry standards.
- Continuously assess and improve workflows, systems, and policies across departments. Identify bottlenecks and develop streamlined processes that enhance operational efficiency, support high-quality service, reduce unnecessary costs and improve accuracy and timeliness. Implements process improvement projects as identified in our regulatory or financial audits.
- Develop and enforce operational and financial controls within the Claims Services, Customer Service, Employer Services, and Regulatory and Compliance Departments. Establish metrics and reporting structures that ensure compliance with industry standards, accreditation standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with other departments, such as Customer Services, Underwriting, IT, Finance, Health Care Services, Sales and Client Services to align operational objectives, improve service delivery, and support strategic initiatives. Facilitate open communication and problem-solving across teams to optimize operational outcomes.
- Implement tactics and systems to detect, investigate, and prevent enrollment and claims fraud. Work proactively to monitor unusual activities and conduct regular audits to maintian integrity across all operational areas.
- Works with the COO to provide oversight over Claims Services, Customer Services, Employer Services, and Regulatory and Compliance Departments. Ensures adequate resources and training are provided to the respective departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
