Job Overview
The Admissions Counselor is a member of the professional admissions team dedicated to recruiting incoming students to UAH primarily through support in application management. This position will support the admissions team by utilizing data systems to manage incoming students through the enrollment process. Additionally, this position will represent UAH accurately and persuasively to prospective students, parents, school officials, school counselors, teachers, and alumni as well as UAH faculty, staff, and students.
Duties /Responsibilities
- Works with prospective students from their initial application to class registration to support completion of their enrollment steps. This includes processing application materials, payments, and any additional items necessary for enrollment.
- Manages the transition of student data from third party sources into the CRM and data from the CRM to approved third party vendors. This includes troubleshooting integration errors and ensuring timely updates of student records.
- Supports the Director of Enrollment Management in providing continuous training to other Admissions Counselors on the CRM and other enrollment systems. This includes troubleshooting errors in the application and/or enrollment steps.
- Assists the Senior Admissions Counselor in managing communications to prospective students, including but not limited to acceptance packets, scholarship offers, denial letters, incomplete application reminders, scholarship upgrade letters, and enrollment processing email communication.
- Meets individually with incoming students in-person, over the phone, or via virtual appointments to provide support in completing enrollment steps.
- Travels as needed to high schools, college fairs, and off-campus recruitment events to engage with prospective students and their families.
- Attends on campus recruitment events and activities to engage with prospective students, including evenings and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Management
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-2 or more years of full-time verifiable work experience in a university or college setting OR 1-2 years as an active member of a student organization
- Must have database management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be available to work some evenings and weekend events as needed
