The University of Alabama System is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level IT Auditor to join our Internal Audit team. This role will provide an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in information technology (IT) auditing within a higher education environment. The ideal candidate will assist in evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of IT systems and controls to ensure compliance, security, and operational excellence across all University of Alabama System campuses.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in planning, conducting, and documenting IT audits, including system, application, and data integrity audits.
- Review IT systems, infrastructure, and processes to identify risks and ensure compliance with university policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct assessments of information security controls to protect sensitive data, including cybersecurity, access management, and data privacy.
- Assist in evaluating system implementations, upgrades, and new technology initiatives to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and communicate findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Document audit findings, prepare reports, and present results to senior management.
- Stay up to date with current trends, technologies, and best practices in IT auditing and cybersecurity.
- Support the team in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
