- High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent
- Three (3) years experience in customer service or healthcare environment. registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Good communication skills.
- Computer/basic keyboard skills.
- Telephone etiquette skills.
- General knowledge of office machines, including printers and scanners.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology is required.
- Basic proficiency with computers and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with processing referrals.
Additional Information:
Key Responsibilities:
- Referrals - Scheduling referrals, physician clinics, registration of patients with specialty providers to ensure maximum productivity, assists with front/back-office operations. Involves problem-solving with patients, outside physicians, and medical providers to ensure the best possible healthcare is provided.
- Interact with patients to ensure HIPAA compliance and overall satisfaction with UAMS Northeast policies and procedures; provide assistance to patients concerning institution policies and procedures; attend workshops/meetings to stay abreast of changes in patient care.
- Clinical excellence: Interacts daily with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other medical facilities via telephone and in person to ascertain excellence in service.
- Answering questions and resolving issues with patients, physicians, and others in their interactions with UAMS Northeast and providing assistance regarding institutional and administrative policies and procedures.
- Medical Records, Death Certificate Processing, and related responsibilities including verifying patient eligibility and insurance, answering phones, aiding patients in other areas.
- Customer Service: Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
- May Perform other duties as assigned.
