Summary of Job Duties :
The Student Development Specialist (SDS) is responsible for identifying and selecting eligible students for the Student Support Services (SSS) program. The SDS conducts intake interviews, administers assessments to determine academic need, and develops individualized support plans for incoming and returning SSS participants. The SDS provides advising support for program participants and tracks their progress through each semester through graduation, providing services and recommendations to support retention and graduation. This position is a 100% grant funded, 12-month appointment.
Qualifications :
Required Education and / or Experience
- Master's degree in counseling, education, student affairs, or social work OR Master's degree in another field with two years minimum of experience related to these fields, such as college student advising or education, and two years of experience working directly with undergraduate students.
