Required Education and Experience:
- Degree-seeking UA Little Rock student enrolled in classes at the time of application;
- Currently classified as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior and in good academic standing;
- Must obtain a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application;
- Eligible to legally work 20 hours per week in the United States;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as representatives of the college;
- Energetic and positive attitudes about UALR and the college experience;
- Serve as role models for incoming college students;
- Specific duties are designated by the department hiring manager to include but are not limited to customer service, campus tours, and public speaking.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Knowledge of UA Little Rock as a whole including campus buildings, operations, academic colleges, campus events, student services;
- Serving as a concierge to all students and guests who are transitioning to UA Little Rock;
- Orientation Leaders are required to participate in all sessions for traditional first-year students, transfer students, non-traditional students, parents, and guests held during their period of employment;
- Maintain a professional, present, and engaged demeanor while in the Orientation Leader role;
- Ability to answer common questions regarding Admissions, Financial Aid, and other student services offices;
- Knowledge and understanding of the FERPA Privacy Act;
- Ability to conduct campus tours;
- Proficient public speaking skills.
