Summary of Job Duties:
The HEI (Higher Education Institution) Program Coordinator provides administrative support for the Department of Industrial Engineering primarily in the Undergraduate Studies program. This position develops procedures to support degree audits, student advising, and management of student records. This position communicates curriculum changes, program updates, class schedules, class assignments, and class reports. In addition, the Program Coordinator performs program research and data collection to compile reports for departmental, campus and external agencies including accreditation reviews. This position collects data and monitors the progress of meeting Student Learning Measures (SLM) for accreditation.The employee will manage the central office, serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, & staff, and provide administrative support for the department. This includes purchasing office supplies, textbooks, regalia, etc., assisting faculty and staff with special projects, reconciling procurement and travel cards, maintaining physical spaces by making recommendations for improvement and coordinating any needed repairs to provide resolution in a timely manner, and other similar duties as assigned.
The Program Coordinator will coordinate departmental events for broad range of stakeholders including industry, alumni, faculty/staff and students. Duties include securing venues, negotiation with vendors, contract execution, and event management, ordering food, awards, etc. Oversee support staff and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in business, sociology, public administration, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

At least two years of experience in program administration or related area
Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:

At least two years working in an administrative role in higher education

Previous University of Arkansas experience using system software

Experience as a project manager

At least 2 years event or conference coordination experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of program degree requirements and equivalencies

Knowledge of campus and community resources

Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs

Ability to handle records, materials, and issues in a discrete and confidential manner

Ability to provide a consistently high level of courteous, professional, and cheerful customer service to internal and external constituents

Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations

Ability to compile information into report form
