Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a support and point of contact for New Student & Family Programs. Work with the Coordinator and other relevant faculty/staff to plan, implement, and evaluate live and virtual programs for incoming students.
- Support the five established NSP planning committees to ensure a high-quality onboarding experience rooted in student development theory and best practices for incoming students. Planning committees include: Mane Event, Lion Launch, Cub Camp, Online Orientation, and Assessment. Program Assistant provides logistical or clerical support to these committees as needed.
- Support the implementation of events and outreach efforts to facilitate relationship building with parents and families through new student orientation, Parent and Family Weekend, Homecoming, and other related events. Help develop digital and print content for the Family Newsletter.
- In collaboration with the Division of Student Success & Retention, work to track and measure the impact of programs and services. Help with providing content to the NSP Annual Report and to SSR regarding student success outcomes.
- In collaboration with the Student Director of Cub Camp, support the Cub Camp program and its student leaders.
- Help with the New Student and Family Programs website and social media accounts. Help with placing Marketing requests and building digital content as needed.
- Help with ordering and organizing supplies.

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office setting. The Program Assistant for New Student and Family Programs may be required to work some evenings and weekends. The Program Assistant may also be asked to perform tasks which may require occasional lifting of no more than 50 pounds.
