Summary of Job Duties:
Seeking a highly motivated individual for a Post Doctoral Fellow position in Electrical Engineering. The associated projects including high power grid-tied converters development and validations. The Post Doctoral Fellow will mainly work on conducting research, helping in day-to-day operation of the lab, and assisting faculty to supervise graduate students.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in electrical engineering from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Hands on experience in design, development and control of power electronic converters
  • Experience in PCB design, gate driver design and thermal management solutions
AND
  • Demonstrated knowledge power electronic circuit theory such as dc/dc converters, inverters, and multi-level converters
OR
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic PWM control methods
OR
  • Demonstrated knowledge and some experience with thermal management techniques in power electronic modules and assemblies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with medium-power or medium-voltage power converters
  • Proficiency in the programing of DSP or CPLD or FPGA
  • Experience with wide bandgap, e.g., SiC or GaN, devices/modules for power electronic system applications
  • Experience in EMI filters design
  • Experience in printed circuit board layout
  • Experience in the design of medium- or high-frequency transformers

Additional Information:
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
