This position provides support to the Office of Disability and Access Services in its work with students with disabilities, as well as the faculty and staff involved with these students This position manages the logistics of student disability services (i.e. testing, note takers, technology requests, alternative format book orders, etc.); triages student issues and refers to appropriate staff; and supports promotion and publicity of both the Office of Disability and Access Services and the Office of Student Support. Reporting directly to the Director of Disability and Access Services, this position is to support initiatives and programs; aid with programming efforts; and support all core functions within the Office of Disability and Access Services.

Key Responsibilities
Works as a member of the student support team within the Office of Student Support to ensure student needs are addressed in a manner that supports student success and retention while providing a central point for office management. Assists with the preparation and implementation of student development programming to include Executive Function support and other supports for students with disabilities. Provides logistical support for promotion and publicity for the Office of Student Support.
Manages logistics of disability accommodations including all aspects of student note takers, accommodated testing, and alternative textbooks.
Handles procurement concerns with regular vendors and individual purchases; support budget manager. Coordinates orders of all supplies and technology for the Office of Student Support. Serves as primary p-card holder for office. Enters routine purchase requisitions for supplies, equipment, and note-taker stipends.
Supervises management of information requests from both internal and external constitutes and provide oversight to file retention processes of highly confidential student records including, conduct and compass files. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: 1 year experience in higher education in student support/service areas. Substitution of education and experience allowed on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or human services or related degree
Experience: 2-3 years of prior experience providing support to students with disabilities. Experience with assistive technology, budgets
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be self-directed and possess strong organizational skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Teams
- Strong proficiency in Power Automate or Google Forms
- Familiarity with Assessment
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Understanding of policies and processes within higher education
- Demonstrated ability to help students navigate university issues and situations
- Comfort in helping students with sensitive situations
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint
