The department employs 15 departmental staff, approximately 45 ladder-rank faculty, and maintains a total academic membership of approximately 70 including joint appointments, lecturers, visiting faculty and active emeritus.Application Review DateThe First Review Date for this job is October 24, 2024.ResponsibilitiesLearns and assists in setting up experiments in the field and online. Coordinates surveys and the data collection process. Responds to any questions from participants. Learns to assist in the set-up and analysis of randomized experiments both online and in the field, and using computational techniques to test predictions of economic theory and to evaluate public policies.Learns to apply professional or research concepts to perform analysis of data and systems pertaining to moderately complex projects, policies, initiatives, / processes, and / or functions : Assists with research at the forefront of Behavioral, Public, and Labor Economics by analyzing public and private datasets using quasi-experimental methods. Learns to conducts data construction, analysis and processing. Learn to performs data analysis using statistical packages such as STATA and perform numerical simulations using languages such as Matlab.Edits manuscript drafts for consistency, typos, and statistical accuracy.Performs reviews of relevant literatures in economics and related disciplines, and related policy briefs.Required QualificationsSkills to learn organization-specific and other computer application programs.Basic communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.Basic skills to analyze and research information and learn to synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.Basic program and project management skills.Acquiring knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.Salary & BenefitsThis is a full-time, 2-year contract position. This position is eligible for up to 50% remote work within the United States. Exact arrangements are determined in partnership with your supervisor to meet role responsibilities and department needs and are subject to change.This position is eligible for the full range of UC Benefits. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position.
