The Noel Drury, M.D. Institute for Translational Depression Discoveries is supported by a record $55 million estate gift from philanthropist Audrey Steele Burnand. The Noel Drury, M.D. Institute for Translational Depression Discoveries focuses on innovative approaches to understanding the mechanisms behind depression; improving diagnosis of the disorder; and developing personalized, scalable therapies for it, and, ultimately, better prevention strategies.




Your Role on the Team

As a member of the Noel Drury, M.D. Institute for Translational Depression Discoveries (“Depression Institute”) leadership team, this role involves managing, planning, and administering the complex administrative operations of the Depression Institute. Responsible for overseeing a diverse range of activities related to preclinical, translational, and clinical research. Responsibilities include financial management, human resources, IT, facilities, laboratory operations, and oversight of contracts and grants. The position requires the development of intricate budgets with multiple funding sources, as well as strategic planning for administrative improvements. The individual provides detailed analysis of budgetary funding and resource allocation, ensures compliance with grant and contract regulations, and manages pre- and post-award processes. Additionally, they supervise support staff and report on operational and budgetary performance to the Director. The role also includes representation of the department in institutional business matters and participation in various committees, including the Internal and External Advisory Boards, while holding significant budgetary accountability.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $85,400 - $121,100 (Annual).


Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as risk management planning, accounting, payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Advanced skills in short- and long-term strategic planning, analysis, problem-solving and customer service.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 5-10 years related work experience
