Clinical X or In Residence Faculty Series
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is recruiting faculty candidates for its Program in Pediatric Research. These positions will support investigators across the translational science spectrum, including basic, translational, and clinical research. Successful candidates will have a track record of outstanding research accomplishments and extramural funding. This program seeks to attract early-stage, mid-career, and senior researchers and provides a generous start-up package. Appointments will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Clinical X or In Residence series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.
Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and an established training program and will actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- MD or MD/PhD with training in pediatrics and/or a pediatric subspecialty
- Eligibility for a California medical license
- Board-certified or board-eligible in pediatrics and/or a pediatric subspecialty
- Proven track record of publications and obtaining peer-reviewed external funding
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Commitment to diversity in the workplace
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strength in teaching
- Strong communication skills across a variety of venues
- Has obtained, or is on track to obtain, R01 or equivalent funding as a Principal Investigator

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500-$228,600.
