Description
The sports director for UCM Radio-The Beat is the primary play-by-play voice for UCM Mules and Jennies athletics and for Crest Ridge High School sports. The sports director is also responsible for updating the sports section under Central News on ucmradio.com.
Examples of Duties
- Researching and prepping for and then broadcasting UCM Mules football and Mules and Jennies basketball.
- Researching and prepping for and then broadcasting Crest Ridge High school football, basketball, baseball and softball.
- Collecting results and publishing under Central News on ucmbeat.com.
Typical Qualifications
Education:
- Junior or Senior at the University of Central Missouri
- At least one year of high school or college sports broadcasting experience
Supplemental Information
Working Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, 10-20 hours per week (Specific schedule will be negotiated with successful applicant)
Special Instructions:
Full-time benefits-eligible position: Benefits include competitive salary; health, dental, vision, life insurance, AD & D, long-term disability; 3 weeks paid vacation per year; 3 weeks of accrued sick leave per year; 13 paid holidays; retirement; and generous education assistance for an employee, spouse and dependent children taking classes at UCM.
Part-time benefits-eligible positions: Benefits include generous education assistance for the employee.
Temporary, adjunct, student employment, or graduate assistant positions: Benefits are not included.
