General Schedule:
Position typically works Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm in-office at UCO's main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Position Overview:
The HR Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assisting employees, new hires, and external partners with HR-related inquiries and appointments. This role serves as the primary point of contact for scheduling employment authorization and onboarding appointments while also providing front-line reception and clerical support for the HR department. In addition to handling administrative tasks, the HR Assistant ensures clear, timely, and professional communication with all stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret policies and regulations are essential. This role handles non-routine, often confidential matters with discretion and professionalism, contributing to a welcoming and efficient HR environment.
Job Duties:
- Schedule and assist with employment authorization and onboarding appointments.
- Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, and in person.
- Complete and track purchases.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain personnel files.
- Process employee change transactions.
- Support employee separations and assist with offboarding processes.
- Perform research and respond to inquiries from external agencies.
- Run reports, complete various processes, and maintain data within the HRIS
- Perform clerical duties.
- Others related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
General education or vocational training and 3 years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications Preferred:
Professional office experience preferred.
