Position Overview
Perform computer and customer service related duties in an office setting. Typical duties may include but are not limited to: typing, filing, answering telephones, customer service, scheduling appointments, and Microsoft Office experience.
Students approved for Federal Work Study Program funding through the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships preferred.
Hours per Week
- 20 hours per week.
- Any time, Monday Friday, between 8:00am 5:00pm.
College/Department Overview
The Office for Advancement houses the Alumni Association and the Foundation. Each entity is their own separate 501C-3 organizations (non-profits) that work to advance UCO through alumni and community engagement, fundraising and scholarships. A student worker would have the opportunity to engage with alumni and donors of the university, help promote fundraising initiatives, understand data and gift collection and be an advocate for the Student Alumni Association.
Department Specific Job Functions
- Clerical Duties for the Office for Advancement.
- First touch with donors, students and community members by answer phones and managing advancement email.
- Scan documents onto electronic storage- OnBase.
- Assist Marketing and Communication with alumni stories and alumni in the news.
- Assist with RE database input of alumni contacts, event registrations and constitute records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Enrollment Requirements
Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half time enrollment for Fall/Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students shall be enrolled full time to be eligible to work as a student worker. Full time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.
Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.
Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. This pertains to both regular and Federal Work Study Program positions. Contact jobs@uco.edu for more information.

Preference will be given to students who've been awarded Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) funds through the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships
Please be aware, Summer FWSP is not included in the Fall/Spring semester award for FWSP. Summer FWSP is an individual application process through the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.
