Structure
The Assistant Director of Stewardship, Academic Health Enterprise is an exempt (salaried) position employed by the University of Cincinnati Foundation (UCF) and reports to the Senior Director, Stewardship.
Focus
The Assistant Director of Stewardship is responsible for stewardship activities for the benefit of donors to the University of Cincinnati and UC Health. The Assistant Director works as part of the UCF Stewardship and Donor Experience team to ensure consistent donor experience across the organization. This position provides stewardship support for the academic health enterprise.
Specific Duties
- Manage principal level, college and unit-based stewardship, with a primary focus on scholarship stewardship and current use funds.
- Support the central donor fund report process in colleges/units, specifically for principal level prospects/donors.
- Partner to create impact reports for principal level prospects and funds not part of annual Donor Fund Report process.
- In partnership with team members, coordinate and execute annual plans for college and unit specific donor engagement events to steward donors pro-actively and appropriately at all levels.
- Collaborate across the team to oversee financial stewardship of all named funds, including gift agreement and endowment administration, annual fund audits, financial reporting, and analysis of data to create, develop and implement fund management strategy.
- Form strong working relationships with important internal and external partners related to assigned college/unit(s). Serve as contact for questions related to fund use, donor recognition, and stewardship from faculty & staff.
- Notify college departments of new restricted gifts, track gifts and maintain donor files; ensure accuracy of university data for fund amendments or changes.
- Work closely with the college’s scholarship program manager to develop and implement a stewardship plan for all active scholarship donors, including connecting donors with their students via in-person visits, letters, e-mails, and/or calls.
- Work directly with UCF Finance and Gift Administration teams, and UC’s Business Office Liaisons, Academic Services, and Scholarship Committee to ensure Scholarship Universe is up to date with all current and new gift agreements regarding the process to award scholarships.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of professional experience in fundraising, donor relations, higher education, or transferable related experience with an undergraduate degree.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Discretion and diplomacy, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and meet multiple competing deadlines.
- Must be willing to travel, and work evenings and weekends as needed. Valid driver’s license required for travel.

What We Offer
The anticipated starting salary range for the Assistant Director of Stewardship role is $50,000 to $55,000 annually. When determining final offer amount the UC Foundation considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, this position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work). This position will be open to hybrid work from the office and home.
