Job Summary :
We have an exceptional opportunity for an individual to join our team as an Instrument Sterilization Technician - Lead for our cleaning and sterilization lab. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our lab, with a focus on infection control and quality standards. By supervising and assisting staff, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and sanitized environment while adhering to established procedures and techniques.
Key Responsibilities :
This position has responsibility for the cleaning and decontamination of all instruments and equipment according to established procedures and techniques; ensuring proper functioning of equipment and cleaning the sanitizing machines and equipment. In addition to the sterile processing functions, this position will build inventory cassettes and instruments and disburse the sterile reusable instruments to the clinical units and provide oversight of the collection of used and disbursed instruments to begin the sterilization process.
Decision Scope :
- Position decides how and when the work is distributed among other staff
- Determines the appropriate processes for instrument sterilization based on established guidelines and procedures
- Makes recommendation for process improvement and performance evaluations of staff

Minimum Qualifications :
Substitution : Completion of a Sterile Processing Certification program OR a Dental Assistant Certification may substitute for the general sterilization experience, but not for the one year of specific experience with specialized dental instrument setups.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

The starting salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established as
49,828 - $60,144
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
