Housing Facilities Services (HFS) is a comprehensive facility management operation that provides around-the-clock support to over 10,000 residents and 20,000 conference guests annually. Services include maintenance, repair, renovation, project management, capital construction, housekeeping and grounds-keeping operations. HFS has approximately 190 full-time employees and approximately 80 part-time and student staff, who all strive to give residents the best living experience possible.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Daily driving requirement of a box truck (10,000 lbs plus) to deliver materials and supplies to worksites. Must be CMV certified.
- Assemble and repair furniture, appliances, and related equipment.
- Daily responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the delivery, set-up and removal of equipment and supplies while minimizing the impact on students, faculty and other campus partners.
- Choose the best material handling tools and delivery method for scheduled workload.
- Determine the best way to safely lift, move, and operate vehicles and equipment. This may require assistance from a supervisor or fellow building trades person. This may also require disassembling items for transportation.
- Create organizational layout for inventory, storage and shelving.
- Ensure storeroom and inventory are adequately stocked and supplied.
- Maintain accurate computer and handwritten inventory records.
- Ensure goods are received in compliance with original order.
- Load and unload deliveries and shipments, stocking shelves
- Perform annual inventory and organize/clean warehouse and storeroom.
- Maintain inventory by purchasing equipment parts, services, and supplies in anticipation for special or emergency needs.
- Purchase equipment, tools, parts, services for special or emergency needs.
- Negotiate pricing and shipping with suppliers.
- Determine specifications for equipment, tools, parts and supplies.
- Identify the best value for items by reviewing price quotes and standing purchase orders.
- Manage P-card purchases and statement monthly.
- Set up new accounts both online and on the phone including tax exempt paperwork and documents.
- Remove snow and ice from parking lots, sidewalks, streets, patios, and entrances.
- Apply salt to enhance safety of entrances. Deliver Ice melt to storage locations on campus.
What You Should Know
- This position will operate University vehicles and requires an active Driver's License.
- Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) certification is required. Training will be provided by CU if not already acquired.
What We Can Offer
- The annual salary for this position is $45,219.20.

What We Require
- A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years.
- This includes experience driving a truck with GVWR of 10,0001 lbs or greater, operating snow removal equipment, and/or use of material handling equipment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) certification to operate vehicles.

- Ability to safely operate university vehicles.
