This position may share responsibility for continued 24x7 operation of the campus network, and joins an on-call rotation and needs to be able to respond to broad outages in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Network Service Operations:
- Perform campus wide network support including configuration, pre-production deployment testing, deployment, inter-connectivity design layout, record keeping and providing solutions based on minimal direction. Support physical infrastructure group in maintaining networking connectivity. Maintain and modify monitoring tools (solar winds) as needed for edge switch management and monitoring, this includes supervising scripting where necessary to support the network uptime.
- Respond to switch outages related to operating systems, configuration software, and inter connectivity issues on a needed basis as the advancement point from level 1. Strive for highest levels of customer service based on reactionary survey results. This position will provide high-level technical support every day, engage customers to understand issues when necessary, work with the team to fix and resolve customer issues. Provides detailed estimates for IT network build-outs for capital construction and remodel efforts.
- Responsible for maintaining, configuring, patching, troubleshooting, and repairing firewalls. Ability to use firewall management systems to supervise and push configurations and policies to supported firewall platforms. As well as the ability to perform software and hardware upgrades to supported firewall platforms.
- Responsible for maintaining, configuring, patching, fixing, and repairing VPN systems. Includes monitoring systems and responding to network outages. Ability to configure custom VPN requests. Ability to perform analysis/troubleshooting of VPN services while engaged with customers.
- Responsible for maintaining, configuring, patching, troubleshooting, and repairing NAC system. Ability to perform software and hardware upgrades to supported NAC systems, engaging with NAC vendor as required.
- Responsible for maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting the paging system as well as the scripting tools setup the rest of the networking team uses as a resource.
- Ensure network closets are maintained to standards, including cleanliness, labeling, power solutions, and general operational integrity.
- Maintains proficiency and acquires new technical knowledge by reading technical journals, manuals, electronics mailing lists, newsgroups, and standards documents, attending seminars and classes, participating in discussions with colleagues and collaborating with vendors. Work with management to determine proper course-level training opportunities.
- This position is in a hybrid work situation.

- The salary range is $76,602 - $86,161 per year.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- A combination of education and/or related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
- Two years’ experience:
- Configuring and maintaining enterprise firewall equipment;
- Supporting Ethernet based routing and switching in a large enterprise environment;
- One year experience configuring and maintaining an enterprise VPN service;
- A Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Good logic ability, scripting experience and basic web design knowledge. MySQL, Python, PowerShell, Linux, Perl, Pascal, etc.
