Job Summary

The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement welcomes applications for a Temporary Administrative Assistant! This is a part-time, temporary position, that reports to the Professional Assistant to Enrollment Management. Duties include supporting office administrative responsibilities, such as purchasing, hiring, and procurement reconciliation. The weekly schedule could range from 20 – 40 hours per week, depending on department needs. This is an in-person position with an anticipated appointment from February 2025 through the end of August 2025.

Who We Are

The Division of Enrollment Management oversees campus undergraduate and graduate student enrollment initiatives, objectives and goals in collaboration with academic leadership and key campus collaborators. The division strives to ensure that recruitment and enrollment plans improve the campus' academic profile, maintain access, promote inclusive excellence, focus on student success outcomes, meet campus recruitment and revenue goals, and diversify the student body.

Enrollment Management includes the following CU Boulder departments: Admissions Office, Bursar’s Office, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement. The team comprises approximately 220 professional staff and 250 paraprofessional staff who are responsible for hosting over 50,000 visitors to campus annually, disbursing over $440 million in financial aid annually, developing the pipeline from K-12 to higher education and supporting students and their families with tuition payment options.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

HR Coordination & Assistance:

  • Ensure candidates provide all required documents, and track progress of other required steps; background check, I9’s, and Personal Information Worksheet.
  • Manage and track HR tickets, serving as the liaison for the supervisor.
  • Validate that data on hiring sheets is correct and turned in on time.
  • Assist in the hiring and termination of summer staff (lecturers, temporary aids, and student employees).
  • Aid in offer letter generation for temporary and part time positions.
  • Submit and verify late pay requests for hourly staff.

Office Support & Procurement Reconciliation:

  • Assist in pertinent travel related requests, for example, cash advance requests, travel requests, etc.
  • Create and submit travel card, procurement card expense reports for staff, as needed.
  • Support the Professional Assistant to Enrollment Management with staff communications via email and/or Microsoft Teams.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Complete job related training.
  • Assisting with coordination of department events.

What You Should Know

The anticipated length of this temporary appointment is from February 2025 through the end of August 2025.

This is an in-person position located on CU's campus.

What We Can Offer

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.

What We Require

  • High School Diploma.
  • At least one year of job-related experience.
  • One year of proven experience with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation software), email communication tools, and web-based applications.
