- Review journal entries based on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and university guidelines.
- Compile sales tax information from departments and prepare filing of monthly sales tax return.
- Create, maintain, and reconcile IUCA’s workbook and journal entries in general ledger.
- Reconcile and process I/O payment requests from UCH.
- Investigate and make corrections for abnormal balances in financial statements.
- Research and resolve discrepancies and errors appearing on accounting duties.
- Interpret, analyze, evaluate, and investigate financial data or transactions.
- Assist departments with issues of journal entries, sales tax reporting, and chartfields.
- Generate and prepare financial reports as assigned.
- Perform accounting tasks as assigned for university general ledger’s month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
- Field questions from departments and provide training regarding accounting, financial reporting, and university systems (such as Peoplesoft and HCM).
- Coordinate chartfield requests from departments, assign requests to accountants in Finance Office for processing, and monitor progress of chartfield setup and maintenance.
- Review chartfield requests from departments and set up chartfield in finance system in compliance with fund accounting and university guideline.

Entry Professional Level:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution with 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing is required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with University of Colorado systems, reporting, finance, and PeopleSoft System financial module.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
