UConn Health and the University of Connecticut Medical School are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible academic thoracic surgeon to join our vibrant and growing Section of Thoracic Surgery as a full-time academic faculty member. This role will be integral to expanding the general thoracic surgery clinical service line, as well as contributing to its mission of high-quality research and educational activities.
Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative management of thoracic surgical patients. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the full breadth of general thoracic surgical procedures (both benign and malignant), with a strong focus on Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) and robotic surgery. The candidate should also have a strong interest in research and education of thoracic surgery fellows, surgical residents, and medical students.
A dedication to teamwork and strong leadership skills are desired. Collaboration with our interventional pulmonology team, active participation in our multidisciplinary tumor board, and a consistent role within our Cancer Center are essential components of this position.
