Assistant Professor/Clinical - Movement Disorders Neurologist (1.0 FTE)
A general neurologist with subspecialty training in Movement Disorders. The essential duties of this position include: 1) the care of adult movement disorders patients; 2) diagnosing and providing effective comprehensive management of all types of neurological disorders such as Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, ALS, and other general neurological disorders; 3) teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and 4) participation in clinical trials. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board certified/board eligible in Neurology. Candidates with subspecialty training in Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders are preferred.
In addition to the above general neurology responsibilities, the physician who fills this position will develop a novel clinical practice for patients with neurologic movement disorders.
Responsible for clinical service, teaching, and clinical investigation.
Provide care of patients in the Neurology Outpatient Clinic, with a specific focus on Neurologic Movement Disorders such as Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, ALS, and other general neurological disorders with evaluation and treatment, when those patients are available, as well as general neurology patients.
Perform consultations and admit Neurology patients to John Dempsey Hospital.
Teach medical students, neurology residents and fellows in outpatient clinic and John Dempsey Hospital.
Help develop clinical program in Movement Disorders with teaching and research components.
Minimum Qualifications: Neurology Residency; Board certified/eligible Neurologist
Special and Preferred Qualifications: Board certified/eligible in subspecialty.
One or more years of fellowship training in Movement
