At UConn Health, the Cell Biology Department seeks to fill a Special Payroll Research Assistant
Example of Duties :
Drosophila stock maintenance, genetic crosses.
Design and generation of DNA constructs for transgenic/gene-targeting of Drosophila.
Dissection and fixation of Drosophila tissues, processing the tissues for confocal microscopy.
Live imaging of Drosophila gonads (testis or ovary) using confocal microscopy.
Collect and analyze data. Perform statistical analysis, Maintain and organize digital data files.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have basic laboratory skills, such as performing DNA extractions
Must have researched identifying genetic markers using patient samples
Must have completed training for HIPAA/IRB
Experience and Training
Knowledge of Genetics, Molecular & Cell Biology
Must have obtained Bachelor's degree in Biology
Schedule: Approximately 24 hours per week , schedule to be determined
Hourly Rate: $21
