CONTEXT OF THE JOB :
The Hadden Lab (https : / / sites.udel.edu / jhadden / ) in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Delaware is seeking a postdoctoral fellow. The Hadden Lab specializes in molecular dynamics simulations of viral proteins and their assemblies, particularly capsids. Beyond serving simply as structural components of viruses, capsids actively participate in the viral infection cycle and represent promising drug targets. Under the supervision of Dr. Jodi Hadden-Perilla, the postdoctoral fellow will take the lead in leveraging molecular dynamics simulations of virus capsids to advance the search for antivirals. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with the PI and experimental collaborators who specialize in the biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology of capsid protein assemblies. The project is funded by the NIH, through the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) for Discovery of Chemical Probes and Therapeutic Leads (https : / / sites.udel.edu / cobrediscovery / ). MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Conduct high-quality computational research on viral protein dynamics.
- Construct molecular models, integrating data from experimental sources.
- Design, program, and execute hypothesis-driven analyses of molecular dynamics simulation trajectories.
