What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Level Project Manager position at University of Delaware?

CONTEXT OF JOB :
MARACOOS is working with partners to install lower cost water level sensors to collect data for helping communities and researchers make decisions related to coastal flooding and weather hazards. The Water Level Project Manager will work with the MARACOOS Deputy Director to effectively capitalize on, and evolve, the MARACOOS regional coastal ocean observing system. This position will coordinate the operation of existing (and expansion of new) water level monitoring technologies in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Deputy Director to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Coordinate the regional water level network’s Principal Investigators (PIs) and ensure the project teams are following MARACOOS SOPs for the existing and new water level technology.
- Troubleshoot technologies with PIs, and assist with field work as needed.
- Assist the project PIs with vertical elevation surveys, and process GPS data using NOAA National Geodetic Survey’s Online Positioning User Service (OPUS).
- Gather and share information on each states’ water level monitoring activities, plans, and priorities. Work with PIs and project teams to complete National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental compliance checks for each location.
- Monitor station performance and up-time metrics, based on SECOORA data quality control (QC) daily email alerts.
- Work with MARACOOS data management team on data ingestion and visualization.
- Collaborate and share information with other IOOS Regional Association water level networks.
- Work with IOOS, NOAA’s CO-OPS, NGS and other groups as appropriate to schedule trainings for MARACOOS PIs.
- Coordinate with MARACOOS community engagement partners in state Sea Grant programs to facilitate installation of water level stations in appropriate communities (i.e., proper siting, helping identify station communications options, maintenance / survey considerations).
- Serve as part of the MARACOOS Management Team.
- Complete reports as required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
