Job Description:

The CoBe Student Ambassador described is primarily responsible for supporting the general desk operations and programming functions for the entire Community & Belonging team. This includes answering phone lines, planning and coordinating events, providing customer service to students, faculty, staff, community members, and others who engage with the office.

We seek both Federal Work Study recipients and Non-Federal Work Study students who are interested in enhancing UF's commitment to community building and the engagement of all our students through community engagement, combatting campus loneliness, support to student organizations.

The following are the essential job functions:

  • Staff the front desk of one of our 3 locations including the Institute of Black Culture, the Institute of Hispanic Latinx Cultures and the CoBe front desk during the weekday, (9:00 AM - 8:00 PM)
  • Staff their assigned desks and refer students and staff to appropriate areas as needed by members of the CoBe staff.
  • Table for Preview and other tabling opportunities
  • Conduct tours of the CoBe engagement spaces and each area as needed by visitors, guests and staff
  • Assist with CoBe initiatives and programs
  • Plan and coordinate initiatives in one or more of the CoBe areas above in collaboration with the CoBe Staff
  • Attend monthly CoBe staff meetings and bi-weekly area meetings determined by the CoBe Leadership team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by area
Expected Salary:

$14.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate (minimum of 12 credits) student during the current semester and throughout applicant's term.

Provide documentation of Federal Work Study (if applicable).

Commit to two consecutive semesters with the CoBe Ambassador program.

Be prepared to commit an average of 10 hours per week with a minimum of 8 hours per week

Maintain a 2.5 cumulative G.P.A.

Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University with no repeated violations of University Code of Student Conduct.

Commit to participate in staff trainings and attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings.

Has at least one year of involvement or one year of prior work experience, related to the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrate previous experience with customer service.

Proficient with verbal and written communication.

Demonstrate attention to professionalism, dependability, and timeliness.
