Job Description

The UF Computing Help Desk would like to welcome you to apply for an entry-level Help Desk Student Assistant position, with a $14 per hour starting rate of pay. We are located centrally on UF campus at the HUB, 1765 Stadium Road, and provide assistance via phone, email, live chat, and walk-in consulting.

Our student assistants are responsible for delivering excellent client service for the UF community of faculty, staff, and students. Ideal candidates have good communication skills, are eager to learn, and are customer-service oriented.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

• Assisting clients with Gatorlink account issues such as account creation, password resets, and multi-factor authentication.
• Assisting with email, wireless, and VPN support.
• Helping triage issues to better assist faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

$14/hr

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

• Prior customer service experience
• Eagerness and ability to learn
• Comfortable with technology
• Ability to commit to working for more than two consecutive semesters
