Position Summary
The position manages all on-site construction and renovation projects. Provides leadership for the Georgia Center for strategic planning related to physical facilities long range master plan for renovation / construction; space planning and allocation. Supervises and assigns work responsibilities to Georgia Center Facilities Maintenance and Grounds staff. Provides oversight of operations in support of its mission including strategic direction, personnel supervision, policy implementation, maintaining and enhancing partnerships, and overall quality assurances. The Assistant Director position oversees and directs the work of staff, ensures accountability, serves as a mentor, and resolves complaints or issues.

Manage overall day-to-day facilities operations, responding to staff and contractor requests for administrative, facilities, and grounds assistance, serving as primary point of contact, promoting teamwork and accountability within the division, maintaining continuous improvement in procedures and processes.
a. Work with Facilities personnel to resolve problems concerning facility usage, operations, equipment malfunctions, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems and other support services as needed.
b. Communicate daily with staff and construction team members, regarding inquiries of facilities operations and malfunctions, including but not limited to functions of hotel, kitchen, food outlets, conference areas, offices, lobbies, restrooms, storage, outdoor areas, and loading docks. Continuously trouble shooting concerns, challenges, issues, and provide solutions.
c. Supervise and / or assign work responsibilities to Georgia Center Facilities Maintenance and Grounds staff to identify and resolve design, construction and operational issues impacting our customers and staff.
i. Provide information related to professional development opportunities.
ii. Continuously provide assessment and review, of operations of the department, to find opportunities for improvement in both productivity, consistency, and customer service.
d. Provide training and support for the work order system.
e. Evaluate staff performance, goals, and objectives. This position will have full hire / fire / evaluate / goal setting authority of supervised employees.

Management of all on-site construction and renovation projects, long-range planning, design, and capital construction oversight, in coordination with the Office of the University Architects and with UGA's Facilities Management Division.

Assist the Director in such duties including analyses and recommendations concerning Georgia Center strategic planning and the physical facility :
a. Space planning and review of space allocation requests (along with policy development for allocation of space allocation procedures).
b. Long range master plan development including project scope, budget, and project initiation procedures.
c. Annual MRR requests for renovations associated with Resident Instruction areas of the facility, with a focus on ADA compliance, public safety, and other MRR directives.
d. Assists Georgia Center leadership with identifying and implementing strategic planning goals, objectives, and action plans, and assessment of ongoing Center initiatives.
i. Periodically meet with key internal and external stakeholders to discuss strategic goals and objectives.
ii. Manage the administrative and facilities implementations for strategic program initiatives.
e. Identify, contact, and work together with campus leaders, internal and external clients, and others in order to engage various constituencies, in relation to the organization's renovation activities.
f. Serves on and attends appropriate committees, including GC Strategic Planning Committee, GC Safety and Security Committee, GC Technology Committee, and others as needed.

d. Coordination of Aims work orders through FMD . Hiring of outside contractors and management of the bid process when necessary.

d. Guide the modernization of the facility, while also preserving the historical nature.
