Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for performing duties related to the University's application and admission process for prospective graduate students. Assumes responsibility for promoting a positive and successful experience for graduate students in an effort to increase student retention and graduation. Serves as an active member of the graduate admissions team, contributing to the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to achieve the University's enrollment goals. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.
Hiring Range
Starting salary is budgeted between $45,868 to $56,000
Key Responsibilities
Cultivates and nurtures new graduate student candidates while providing consultative services to prospective students throughout the enrollment funnel with continued relationship building through the first semesters of enrollment. Advises students regarding educational opportunities and options, admission and other requirements, policies and procedures, and financial assistance. Maintains and documents communication via telephone, SMS, video calls, and email with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment, admission and enrollment process.
Maintain accurate records to track recruitment progress toward goal. Evaluate recruitment data, assess recruitment strategy effectiveness and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations. Able to assess University's position within the competitive market landscape and provide data and guidance to leadership regarding recruitment efforts and areas of growth.
Build strong relationships with students and faculty to support student onboarding and retention. Engage with local businesses and industry to raise awareness of Graduate and Professional Studies at the University of Hartford, including the array of exclusive education and corporate benefits available to meet their workforce development needs. Build effective graduate student pipelines through active industry engagement. Refine and host information sessions for prospects and yield events for admitted applicants. Significant collaboration through video calling and business chat tools.
Participates in on-campus/off-campus recruitment activities including graduate fairs, university visits, etc. and provides prospective students with information regarding program offerings. Represents the Office of Graduate Admissions as needed and participates in appropriate state and national professional organizations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
