Other Conditions: Annually renewable every July 1 contingent upon performance and availability of funds. This is not a remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities

   (NOTE: ** denotes Essential Functions)

  1. **Provides administrative and fiscal support for the UH Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity (CIIHE).
  2. **Assists in the preparation, review, and reconciliation of fiscal/administrative documents, including but not limited to, contracts, MOUs, RFPs, quotes, travel, and invoice processing.
  3. **Assists in the collection and analysis of fiscal, budget, and program data and prepares reports for management that inform the status of projects and spending.
  4. **Complete reports for organizational sponsors and support with preparation of materials for grant submissions.
  5. **Assists in advising management, staff, and community partners on applicable University and RCUH policies and procedures. Provides additional assistance to community partners, as needed.
  6. **Assists with the planning and coordination of meetings, events, and projects.
  7. **Assists with drafting and reviewing memos, reports, correspondence, etc.
  8. **Ensures proper organization, retention and storage of pertinent records (e.g. establishing, maintaining and updating eFiles and archives).
  9. **Monitors and maintains UH CIIHE data management systems.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration or related field and 1 year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities related to fiscal, administrative, grants, and/or program management; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
  2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of financial/business administration demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
  3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with financial/business administration.
  4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the financial/business administration field of work.
  5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
  7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Experience working with Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities and/or community organizations. 
  2. Prior experience with post award administration of federal and/or state contracts and grants.
  3. Knowledge of UH and RCUH procurement and personnel procedures and policies.
