Description: Graduate students at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa are invited to apply for a graduate research assistantship with our Population Sciences in the Pacific program at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center. The candidates are required to be in good academic standing and demonstrate a strong interest in an area of research related to cancer health services research. This GA position requires on-site availability at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center in Kaka’ako for 20 hours/week.
Other Conditions: Continuation of the position is subject to satisfactory work performance and availability of funds.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with study participant recruitment, survey/interview, and data collection
Provide support with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
Maintain records of human subjects in research studies
- Assist with writing conference abstracts and manuscripts for journal submissions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Admitted to a master’s or doctoral program at the University of Hawai‘i
- Previous experience in conducting research
- Expressed interest in cancer health services research
- Effective writing and communication skills
- Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated competency in general computer programs, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word
