Other Conditions: For placement in the department adjunct lecturer pool for Spring 2025, Summer 2025, and Fall 2025. Mainly part-time employment, contingent on approval to fill, course offerings, availability of funds, and sufficient enrollment. Appointments offered on a semester basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach primarily lower-division courses: ENG100 Composition I; ENG100A Composition 1 (Honors); ENG200 Composition II; ENG209 Business Writing, ENG270 - 276 Introduction to Literature (emphases on literary history, genre, culture, creative writing, or rhetoric).
Minimum Qualifications
MA or MFA degree in English or appropriate field from a college or university of recognized standing;
Ability to teach effectively, direct group discussions;
Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others
Desirable Qualifications
Ph.D. in English or other appropriate field;
Experience teaching first-year writing, writing intensive, and/or introductory literature courses at the college or university level;
Evidence of scholarly or professional activity.
