Position Summary
The appointment as Associate Professor will have a primary role in the Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology Program and Physical Therapy Faculty Practice; teaching and mentoring students and overseeing patient care in the Medical Exercise Therapy (MET) Clinic.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Building a referral base for the Medical Exercise Therapy (MET) Clinic
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, including participation in patient care, quality control of care delivered and documentation
- Manages and supervises other faculty and staff involved in delivery of exercise and testing services
- Academic and scholarly assignments within the UIC Department of Physical Therapy's Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology Program
- Service on department, college and/or university committees as assigned by the Department Head
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
- PhD in Exercise Science or related field
- Previous experience in development and delivery of exercise in patients with chronic diseases
- Previous experience as an educator in the class, laboratory or clinical setting
- Record of scholarship (i.e., peer reviewed publications and/or extramural funding)
