UIC is seeking an HRIS Analyst II to join our Enterprise HRIS team. This role will focus on configuring and optimizing HR systems, coordinating special projects and delivering critical reporting and analytics to support organizational decision-making. The role has a deep understanding of HR systems, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to ensuring our HR processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
System Configuration
- Configure and maintain HR systems to align with HR processes, data fields, workflows, notifications, and user permissions. Perform troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues, escalating to senior team members or vendors as needed. Contribute to testing and validation for system upgrades or patches to ensure smooth functionality. Participate in HRIS upgrades and enhancements, providing critical reporting and data expertise and responding to emerging project requirements from a reporting or data perspective. Implement system updates and enhancements, including testing, troubleshooting, and user training
Projects
- Participates in and may oversee periodic or special projects such as audits, system implementations, or enhancements. Coordinate with HRIS and HR teams on various projects, applying technical skills and system knowledge to meet project objectives. Coordinates HRIS initiatives to implement union contract updates, ensuring accurate updates to pay scales, salary adjustments, and compliance with contract requirements
Reporting
- Build reports and reporting dashboards in Tableau or related HRIS reporting applications to satisfy report requests, including thoroughly testing and validating results against customer requirements. Consult with members of UIC Human Resources team, responding to reporting requests, refining requirements, training, and educating users on a variety of reporting and BI/analysis tools
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position
- Five years of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties
- Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining various HRIS platforms; including but not limited to Banner, Cornerstone, JDXpert, and related software
- Demonstrated experience in creating, analyzing, and optimizing reports using various reporting tools (e.g., SAP Web Intelligence, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience with intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in using complex formulas, pivot tables, and conditional formatting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of scripting or automation tools for system process
- Thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, balancing multiple priorities with a clear sense of urgency.
- Impeccable attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
