Information regarding benefits can be found on the Employee Benefits webpage.Position SummaryWith minimal supervision, Extra Help Medical Education Program Coordinator (DoCS Coordinator) will coordinate delivery and implementation of the DoCS course in first and second year College of Medicine (COM) curriculum.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesCoordinates activities related to DoCS which includes: Coordinates clinical skills small groups at SAIL, create schedules for students, faculty, and standardized patients; update and distribute materials for students, standardized patients, and faculty/M4 tutors. Coordinates small groups and lectures held weekly, assist faculty in preparation for these sessions, update and distribute materials for students and faculty/M4 tutors. Facilitates the flow of daily communication between M1/M2 students, faculty, M4 tutors, SAIL staff to enhance learning activities

- Responsible for maintaining and updating DoCS courses’ Blackboard sites including evaluation of Blackboard content and its effectiveness and usage.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating Box folders for students and tutors: Creates portfolio folders for tutors and students each academic year, assists and train tutors on how to use Box for feedback, follow up with tutors and students as needed.
- Coordinates the Patient Care Experience (PCE) component of DoCS: Maintains PCE database, review and update each year, recruit preceptors and serve as liaison with physicians, communicates with other programs in the college for specific pairings and minimize scheduling conflicts (PCM, UHP Mentorship, Mentors Program), monitors experience for M1 and M2 students and keep track of visits, assists students contacting preceptors as needed.
- Assists in coordinating 5 DoCS M4 teaching electives including application, selection, scheduling, and professional development of the students.
- Maintains student/faculty databases and track student assignments for final grades.
- In collaboration with the Associate Director, conducts ongoing and longitudinal evaluations for course sessions and faculty including instrument design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
- Serves as liaison between students and faculty to address concerns related to DoCS and actively communicates with course faculty and students to ensure seamless flow of course activities
- In the absence of the Associate Director serve as the primary contact for the course. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as requested by DoCS Course Directors and Associate Director.
