Job SummaryThe Department of Recreation, Sport and Tourism is accepting applications for a pool of Adjunct Lecturers and Instructors who may be called on to teach and/or develop courses in the following curricular areas:
QualificationsBachelor’s degree is required, and Master and Doctoral degree are preferred. Bachelor’s degree may be sufficient with demonstrated specialization in specified areas and/or other exceptional circumstances. For Adjunct Lecturer consideration, candidates must have a terminal PhD degree, while Adjunct Instructors must hold a Master’s and/or Bachelor’s. Successful candidates should have these degrees in relevant fields of study, such as Recreation, Sport, and Tourism, Law, Entertainment and Event Management or an affiliated field. Candidates with strong evidence of commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level teaching background are encouraged to apply. Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction. General InformationFaculty and staff of the Department of Recreation, Sport and Tourism (RST) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign work to advance knowledge to foster healthy lifestyles, environmental stewardship and sustainability, effective management and marketing of organizations, and social and economic development of communities (see www.rst.illinois.edu for additional information). The RST department offers residential B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. programs, and an online M.S. program, and houses the Office of Park and Recreation Resources with a mission to build partnerships for healthy communities. The RST department is housed in the College of Applied Health Sciences at UIUC. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and course load taught.
