HR Generalist or Senior HR GeneralistTechnology Services - University of Illinois Urbana ChampaignTechnology Services within the Office of the Chief Information Officer is seeking a Human Resources Generalist or Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team. We provide comprehensive HR support to the campus-level technology organization, which includes over 300 staff members dedicated to advancing the mission and vision of the university. The Technology Services HR team is essential to supporting staff career development, driving organization-wide hiring and workforce planning, and fostering collaborations across campus.
The successful candidate must have a strong focus on customer service, a proactive and collaborative work style, and the ability to utilize their administrative and analytical skills to manage multiple HR functions, providing essential support to both our staff and the organization. Hybrid work options may be available for this position, with the ability to be on-site at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus as needed per the University’s Workplace Flexibility policy. - Provide support on human resource activities, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist with complex human resource activities and related Office for Access and Equity documentation activities.
- Senior: Support the full cycle of complex human resource activities and related Office for Access and Equity documentation activities, delegating tasks to Human Resource staff where applicable.
- Advise on human resource strategies and their development, making recommendations to senior leaders, coordinating across units as needed.
- Resolve employee requests, providing coaching and support to managers and Human Resource employees.
- Senior: Resolve complex employee requests, providing coaching and support to managers and Human Resource employees.
- Assist with unit-level implementation and impact analysis, coordinating with central Human Resources as needed.
- Advise managers on unit employee-related matters, such as staffing and career development.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a field closely related to the position.
- Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performing professional-level human resources duties.

- Demonstrated work experience with HR-related programs/applications.

- Strong/excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with others, and strong customer service capability.
- Possess the ability to work independently with occasional supervision; may be able to pursue strategic initiatives and problem-solve with support from management.
- Ability to provide general guidance, mentorship, or indirect supervision to colleagues.
