Job Summary:
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology. This position works in the Comprehensive Assessment and Response Training System (CARTS) Program, which is a partnership between UIC's Psychiatry Department, UI Health's adolescent psychiatric inpatient unit, and the Department of Children and Family Services. The Assistant Professor participates in a multidisciplinary team working with the inpatient unit to formulate treatment protocols based on assessment and analysis of clinical data. Following discharge of individuals from the inpatient unit, the team conducts outreach to caregivers in post discharge living arrangements, monitoring implementation of the protocols and collecting data to evaluate treatment efficacy and progress. The Assistant Professor offers ongoing consultation, suggesting refinements to customize the protocols as needed to promote treatment progress of individuals, and delivers tailored training sessions on clinical subjects.
Job Knowledge & Skills, Education, Experience:
Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.), Industrial Psychology, or Educational Psychology. Candidates must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois (licensed registration as a psychologist by the Illinois Department of Registration and Education). Candidates must possess and be able to apply extensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, and methods with a minimum of 3 years related research experience.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with operations of therapeutic residential treatment programs, knowledge of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and substitute care, and experience working with adolescents with highly challenging behavior, and histories of relational trauma and child abuse.
Benefits and Compensation:
The previously determined salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00.
